One of the most outstanding Galician composers of his generation. Founding member of the Asociación Galega de Compositores, of which he has been President, he worked as a teacher at Conservatorio de A Coruña from 1987 to 1997. He is currently an educational inspector.
He has written orchestral music for chamber voice and group performances in a catalogue of more than a hundred works. He has received frequent commissions, notably from the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galícia (the cantata 'Finisterre para múltiples voces de luz') and the Real Filharmonía de Galícia ('Divertimento' i 'Fanfarrias Xacobeas').
Also of note are the compositions he has produced associated with Galicia's historical heritage: orchestrations, variations and arrangements of works by composers such as Montes, Baldomir or Gaos, of which the most outstanding was the reconstruction of the opera 'Inés e Bianca' by Marcials del Adalid for l'INGAEM, or more recently the CD which he has just made with the renowned sorprano Cristina Gallardo Domas, which includes new orchestrations of popular Galician songs.
Ha has received various prizes, amonfst which the most notable is the rebut 2009 premi de la Crítica for his opera 'O arame'.
