Contents

This book's first part, on triad harmony, offers a set of guidelines to build up a solid, detailed foundation, with examples and practice exercises.

The second part, on analysis and music writing, shows how to build a consistent melody or a sound accompaniment. It also offers guidelines to analyse short, simpler scores, in order to correctly understand and interpret them.

This book should however be complemented with guided listening activities, using a repertoire adequate to the presented forms.

It's main intention is to help the reader understand scores well, rather than only reproducing pitch and rhythm. It is also my intention to initiate creators, and to give them guidelines to help them express themselves.
