The composer Enric Morera i Viura (Barcelona 1865-1942) had a very important role in the musical life of Catalonia in a period still little known of the history of the Catalan music in the XX century.
After studying in Brussels for five years, Morera returned to Barcelona in 1890 with a solid technical formation. Being a man of romantic temperament, possessing an enthusiastic personality and always a passionate supporter of his aesthetic judgments, he was drawn to be the musician of the new modernist generation, an image very much desired by one part of the cultural atmospheres of the moment.
The creative talent of Morera finds its own model and the most genuine translation in the small form and in the composition of works of a native character.
