Nadia Boulanger's Harmony Bible finally in print.
The mysteries of Nadia Boulanger's realizations of the famed 'Vidal Basses and Melodies' finally unlocked and explained by her beloved student and colleague
Narcis Bonet. Nadia Boulanger had the feeling that harmony had to be taught primarily at the piano. Her favourite tool for all her serious students were the figured Basses and Melodies by Paul Vidal. In this collection, composer and long-time Boulanger disciple, Narcis Bonet carefully selects the best of these Basses and Melodies, works them out and explains many of the subtleties Nadia Boulanger would teach to her students.
This is a rare treasure to have and a must for all serious training in harmony. This book is used as the main harmony textbook at the EAMA Summer Composition Program as well as at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris which recreated the legendary musicianship training that was the hallmark of Nadia Boulanger.
