In this collection, composer and long-time Boulanger disciple, Narcis Bonet carefully selects the best of these Basses and Melodies, works them out and explains many of the subtleties Nadia Boulanger would teach to her students.

This book is used as the main harmony textbook at the EAMA Summer Composition Program as well as at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris which recreated the legendary musicianship training that was the hallmark of Nadia Boulanger.
