Musical Toy: Trios for Violins 1
This book brings together a series of children´s songs and folk tunes, or tunes that are otherwise well known in our part of the world, arranged in three-part harmony. Few children´s songs are well suited to the most elementary resources of bowed-instrument technique, and so we have sought to provide the opportunity to embark on extensive instrumental work based on a small but meticulously prepared sample of such tunes, approaching each from a different angle.
Since groups of students tend to be disparate and unique, various harmonisations are provided for each tune, featuring differing degrees of difficulty, so that the best-suited one may be chosen for each group at each particular time.
