Cançó de bressol de la Verge -The Virgin’s Lullaby- is a Christmas song based upon a poem by Tomàs Garcés. Originally written for mixed choir and string quartet, it was premiered in a private audition in Barcelona in 1952. In 2014, the composer was commissioned a new versión—for choir, harp and organ—by Josep Vila Casañas, the conductor of the Orfeó Català. The public premiere of this new version took place on Desember 26th of that same year within the programme of the Concert de Sant Esteve (Boxing Day Concert) at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
