Recull per a joves pianistes intrèpids
(A collection for young, bold pianists)
This collection of piano works is the result of the second edition of Trobades amb compositors (Meetings with composers), a joint initiative by the schools of music in the Centre de Lectura de Reus and in La Selva del Camp. In Trobades amb compositors, a composer is asked to write a collection of little pieces of diverse difficulty, always within the elementary levels. Once students have worked on them with their teachers, the activity culminates in a meeting where the young pianists and the author exchange experiences and in a final public concert. I want, therefore, to congratulate the promoters of this initiative, recognise their work and thank them for letting me be among the chosen composers.
I am not only not a pianist myself, but my knowledge of the instrument is also clearly rudimentary. Thus, and ruling out any didactic orientation regarding technique, I have taken as a guide the will to write music that may connect with the students’ sensibility. I hence present you with this collection, with the simple wish that you may enjoy it.
