Narcís Bonet creates a unique atmosphere through the extended arabesques of the flute, the intonation of the text by the voice and the repetitions of the phrase 'I looked upon this land' by the public. The piano or organ serves as accompaniment.
The poem, by the great Catalonian poet of the 20th century
Salvador Espriu, speaks of the deep connection with his land and culture that all Catalonians feel for their country. Therefore, the message of the poem is universal. The phrase 'I looked upon this land' is printed in the score in English so that the public can repeat the phrase easily.
