(10 Pieces for Piano and Gralla) Ten musicians closely bonded to the world of folk music have participated in the experience of each composing a piece for gralla and piano. Thus we have music, rooted in tradition but contemporarily composed, in a daring attempt to, as stated by the ethnomusicologist Jaume Ayats in his introductory remarks, 'put a gralla in the sitting-room' and in this manner find a new outlet of expression for this traditional instrument, while at the same time associating it with the resonant and harmonically classical world of the piano.
