He was born in Barcelona and studied music at the Barcelona 's Municipal Music School with M. Oltra, R. M. Alcaraz, X. Turull and J. J. Olives; at Barcelona Music School, his teachers, apart from B. Casablancas, were: singing, J. Alvareda and J. Benet; piano, J. Crespo; Analysis, Josep Margarit. As for conducting, he studied with J. Prats, Enric Ribó, J. Duijck, L. Heltay and P. Cao, and he took master classes with Eric Ericson, among others.
As a teacher in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), he took the Singing I and Singning II courses, and also the specialist Conducting for Music Education in the School of Education. He also gave Choral Conducting courses for the Catalan Federation of Choral Groups and the Blanquerna Summer School. He directed the Music Workshop (Aula de Música) of the UAB and its Chorus.
He was the Director of the Barcelona choir Orfeó Gracienc and the choral group Quòdlibet in Molins de Rei.
He has composed pieces for the puppet-show centre Centre de Titelles in Lleida, notably: 'En Jan Titella' (Johnny the Puppet), 'Retaule de Nadal' (Christmas puppet show). He has also composed a number of works for children, young people and adults.
