Verses

A lot of research has gone into this study. Research means gathering the information, classifying it, analysing it and placing these verses in their proper context. 'Versos' (Verses) is the common name in the town of Vilanova i la Geltrú for a kind of religious music performed outdoors on the streets during Holy Week Processions. This tradition goes back some 200 years with a few interruptions. When the Second Vatican Council began to implement its reforms, many processions no longer seemed necessary. When the processions disappeared, so did this particular tradition.
