Works by
Conrad Cardús i Rosell
He began studying the violin at the age of eight under Enric Canals, with whom he remained down to the final levels.
His interest in music came to him from his father, who was a musician by calling, the principal clarinettist with the leading symphony orchestras of his day in our country.
Before 1936, he was one of the first violins in the Orchestral Institute of the Workers' Association founded by Pau Casals.
At that time, he formed the Quartet de Corda (String Quartet) with other colleagues from that orchestra, and then founded the Orquestra de Cambra dels Amics dels Clàssics (Friends of the Classics Chamber Orchestra), an orchestra with over a thousand concerts to its name, and to which he still belongs.
Throughout his life he has divided his time between his work as a violinist and his professional roles in the field of company administration. He has taken part in many performances, sometimes as soloist, and more often as part of chamber music ensembles and in various symphony orchestras, prominent among which are the above-mentioned Institut Orquestral de l'AOC, the Orquestra Estela de la Passió de Olesa of Montserrat, the Orquestra Simfònica de Jazz of Barcelona, the Youth Orchestra of Sabadell, as well as occasional performances with the Orchestra of Barcelona's Liceo Opera House.
