The title of the composition takes us to a historical moment and specific space; Palaeopolis is a part of the ancient Greek city, as can be seen in the archaeological work of Sant Martí d’Empúries. The composer establishes an imaginary nexus with this mythical landscape as the modal areas used for each section define acoustics that take us to landscapes from Classical Greece. The score indicates the authentic and plagal modes used in each section.
The score was written for harp and string orchestra, and involves a solo performance that can be played by flabiol, flute or violin. The six brief sections in the piece have two types of indication: expressive and modal.
The dance in the fourth section and the traditional song in the last section are combined with other parts of a very different nature, such as the harp solo or the Misteriós, conceived almost as a ritual.

Paleàpolis is dedicated to Albert Bosch and the Jove Orquestra de Figueres (Figueres Youth Orchestra).
