This Christmas Cantata was composed in 1972, personally commissioned by Antoni Parera, President of Dotació d'Art Castellblanch, who intended it to be a 'message of hope and brotherhood to make our children sing and feel the Mystery of Christmas today.'
Debuting on December 3rd, 1972 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The participation of the public, not sought out gratuitously and arbitrarily, but rather imposed by the nature of this new inseparable body created within me by the poem and its materialisation in sound. And with this same message, it became the Christmas Cantata of Catalonia. (The 'Song of the Segadors', Hymn from Catalonia, appears discreetly in the second half of the work).

This version is the voices and piano reduction.
