Preludis místics

"The start of the first series of 15 Mistycal Preludes dates to 1973.

These pieces are of a heart-rending and contemplative nature. I have been interspersing them in the varied work I am immersed in, both in the field of formal and instrumental variants. Within the field of piano, the pieces represent a particularly varied world, often being recreated in the struggle within the fierce struggle of existential contradictions, yet conforming to a conceptual continuity. Almost 40 years later, I have created a second series of Mistycal Preludes (15 once again) and I am pleased to have the first and second preludes published in this notebook. In some way, they can be considered to complement one another.

Indeed, the first prelude recreates the structure and the atmosphere reflected in the first Mistycal Prelude (first series), although it is more complex. The second lives in a world of rhythmic exaltation, and an apparent random atmosphere, and has a greatly dense and dramatic core.

Both pieces are dedicated to my great friend, Josep Maria Colom".
