Every music teacher has had kids who took music lessons when they were or as teenagers. Whether they were happy times or not they left their mark on us: that special feeling of playing one of our favourite pieces, or the surprise we feel when we first find out about a new style of music, our progress when we practice' all of these are unforgettable moments. But, can we say the same thing about theory' A serious student accepts it and tries to get the most out of it. But it's different when we teach little children, isn't it' We've got to teach theory in small doses, make it fun, make up your own games.
In kindergarten or elementary school we use rhythm plus a few attractive tunes then, try to make up games to help them learn. That's a very rewarding experience. In this volume we've tried to combine all sorts of games with music theory and other technical matters.
