Catalan folk songs have always interested many composers. However, it isn’t usual at all for choir versions of this repertoire to have a guitar accompaniment.
The difficulty of balance between choir and guitar, especially when the choir is big, nowadays can be easily solved through amplification.
On the other hand, both choral music and guitar music have a long tradition within Catalan music. This piece is then a major contribution to this repertoire.
