CHOIR SCORE WITH PIANO REDUCTION
Work for solo contralto, four choirs (children’s choir, girls’ choir, small choir and big choir) and instrumental ensemble: woodwind quartet (flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet and bassoon), percussion, organ, tuba and two trumpets playing in two different positions, edgewise of the scene in the most sparkling moments and within the orchestra for the rest of the time.
A long time ago, I wanted to write a “Magnificat” that would contrast the image of an innocent Virgin Mary, who receives the visit of the angel, with the one of a mature Virgin Mary, who has experienced and suffered the whole passion and suffering of her son. So when the Agrupació Cor Madrigal charged me with the piece to celebrate its 25th anniversary, I presented them my proposal, which, as you can see if you are holding the score in your hands, was accepted.
