Christmas Sonatina NR.1
The present fascicle of Da Camera offers a second version of the Sonatina de Nadal núm. 1 (Christmas Sonatina nr.1) for piano. It keeps the four beat structure, but the instruments incorporate many dialogue possibilities. At some point it will be necessary to end the score: the first phrase of the second beat may be performed in unison and the two solo instruments may alternate question/answer as well. One can choose.
Regarding the instruments, I tend to imagine them mainly with the narrow and doughy sound of the same kind of instruments: two cellos or bassoons for the low part; two clarinets, violas or violins for the medium part and two recorders or oboes for the high part. However, if one prefers or it is more practical to blend different tessituras, one can take a look at the parts, because the line of the second low instrument overlaps the line of the medium instrument, but not the line of the high instrument. In this case, sometimes I have had to cross the instrument lines in order to center them in the right tessitura. Please, before you give out the parts, it is necessary to study them accurately for a moment to avoid unexpected unisons.
