(Songbook 6)The songs you will find in this songbook can be performed in music classes in schools or in concerts ' they were in fact intended to be sung in concerts, and I have indeed put on such concerts performances with some of the choirs at the I.P.S.I. school (Barcelona).
You will find five songs for a single voice and piano, three songs for two voices, one song with flute accompaniment, and a canon. The songs with two voices can also be sung without the second voice, the result being a song in unison. These melodies were intended to be performed by high-voice choirs. Choir conductors can follow their own criteria in selecting the ones that are best suited to each age-group.
For the songs to sound good, it is very important to follow all the dynamics and tempo markings.
It is also important to have a good pianist in the pieces with piano, to underpin the work as a whole.
I would like to thank Joana Raspall, Txus Fernàndez and Albert Vernet who let me use their poems and entrusted their worlds to me; without them I would not have been able to produce any of the contents of this songbook.
Lastly, I would also like to thank the publishers DINSIC Publicacions Musicals SL for the chance they have afforded me to set it all down in this collection.
