The 'Col.lectiu de Compositors de Tarragona' ordered this work for its own representation. Joan Carles Blanc is a member.
Because of the difficulty of this formation, the author mostly uses the imitative counterpoint in a question/answer form, to avoid the mixing of both instruments. Basically, four types of completely dissonant musical chords are used, with the clearly atonal intention, according to its harmonic functions.
It is composed of three different parts:
The first part, with a small introduction 'Adagio' for guitar, serves as a cell for the last movement and, little by little, is transformed in a prelude of the theme which gives the name to the piece and that is represented by the saxophone in measures 34 and 35. In measure 73, the first episodic passage is presented, and in 82 a second theme that is not developed until the second episode in measure 92 (which is also used in the last movement), to create in measure 100 the recapitulation.
The second movement includes a thematic introduction used at the end. In measure 12 starts the first and only theme in the guitar, to rapidly present its development, in measure 18. In 36, the introduction with the saxophone, joined by the guitar, reappears.
The first measures of the last movement are, as we said before, inspired by the introduction of the first movement, with the feature that the notes that appear represent the word BACH. In measure 32, a part of a series of 38 notes that, in this piece and as a send-off, the author uses for the last time as a composing technique, is presented. In measure 47 starts an episodic fragment to create in measure 59 the first and unique independent thematic element. In measure 83 appears a variation of the second episode of the first part.
In 94, the theme reappears in the middle of two episodes as a small rondo, and in measure 126, the episode of measure 92 of the first part, while in 134, the theme that, as we said before, gives the name to the work.
