The work of Joan velert, in versions for symphonic band of Adolf Ventas, based on a single movement, is wholly melodic in character. It could be divided into two distinct parts: in the first part, harmonised in C major, a little dialogue arises between the higher section of the band and the lower brass instruments.There is a little bridge passage in the middle of the work, leading into the main melody, which features constant contrapuntal figures and builds up to an exalted climax involving the entire brass section and the percussion.
