He studied in the official and the external-student syllabuses at the main music schools in Barcelona (Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona, Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu) and at the Badalona music school. He gained his professional qualifications as a violinist. Elementary grade in the viola and the piano. Unfinished studies in composition. A member of the symphony orchestra Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès since 1989.
Coming from circles involved with traditional music ('música laietana') and with eclectic and self-taught tendencies, he has divided his time between periods of classical studies as a violinist and composer and wide-ranging musical activity in those latter fields.
He started out as a musician accompanying singer-songwriters (Pau Riba, Jaume Sisa) and as a member of dance bands (Orquestra Plateria). He has taken part as a musician in shows (the cycle 'La Caixa a les escoles', Dagoll-Dagóm, Centre Dramàtic de la Generalitat de Catalunya...) etc.
He later continued furthering his studies as a violinist, though now fully in the concert sphere, in strongly contrasting musical ensembles (Quartet Amadis, Barcelona 216, Quintet Cantilena, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias...).
He has made arrangements (Jaume Sisa) and orchestrations for bands (Carles Santos), and harmonisation work for youth orchestras (Conservatori de Granollers).
He has composed for dance groups (Rag-Músic, Álvaro de la Peña), and in the children's sphere (the ballet 'La història de Peter Pan i Wendy', the cantata 'Tot allò que va passar quan...', the song 'Cançó enredosa', which won the Seventh Children's Song prize' in Reus in 1991).
With regard to the violin, he has been guided by many teachers: Jacinta Torner, Xavier Turull, Josep Lluís Puig, Anna Baget, Néstor Eidler, Jindrich Bardon, Jaume Francesch, Sergio Prieto, Lev Kaplan and Josep Maria Alpiste; in chamber music, by d'Àngel Soler; and in composition by Benet Casablancas and Josep Soler.
He has been active as a violin teacher since 1986 in Barcelona and in the towns surrounding it (Escola Turó del Cargol, Espai de Música de Castellbisbal...). Focusing on the elementary level, the need for teaching materials that make an impact on the children studying keeps him permanently busy in research work and production.
