Llàgrimes secretes, per a quartet de corda

I wrote the string quartet “Llàgrimes Secretes” (Secret Tears) throughout 2020. It consists of eight sections and, although the music differs at many points, it should be understood as a single entity, starting with the first movement and ending with the funeral march which concludes the work. It is a piece of music that might seem quite contemporary in nature, but it is also film music, with melodies and rhythms that repeat themselves and reappear.

 

Throughout the work there are very liberal fugues, a waltz, additive and divisive rhythms as seen in the fourth and sixth movements, a nocturne, and a funeral procession march as I have previously mentioned.

 

I have put my heart and soul into the creation of this piece of music on account of what it represents and those great, unforgettable moments. I give my thanks to Dinsic once again in these difficult times we are going through for their continued
