‘De dalt estant’ (From The Top) is a cycle of four songs for a mixed voice choir and piano.
(...) The musical language of the pieces is classical, with several solo fragments which can be performed with solo voice, solo strings, or by all the choir. I have paid special attention to the tessituras and, in a similar way to my other compositions, the piano, which accompanies and interacts with the choir, or has short solo parts.
The original music for ‘Dalt de la muntanya’ (At the Top of the Mountain), for two boy sopranos and piano, won an award at the Musical Composition Competition for Children’s Choirs in Reus. The other three pieces are new compositions.
