Each piece has a tempo, i.e., a movement. Indications such as cantabile , sforzando, tenuto, legato, etc., help familiarize the student with musical markings and expressions, to obtain gradation of sounds (piano, mezzoforte, forte, crescendo..) as well as special effects (staccato, sforzando, tenuto, legato...), and also to change tempo or expression. Metronomical indications are given for each piece.
