The town of Beniarbeig is located in the Valencian Community in Spain. The town itself is found in the northeast of Alicante province, in Marina Alta county. The municipality has 1,926 inhabitants and its rich landscape and history served as the composer’s source of inspiration.

At one point, he was invited to Manolo Sanlúcar’s home in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and for some time the composer fervently worked with the maestro on this flamenco composition based on the Mixolydian scale.

In this piece, the aforementioned system is evident, but lacks flamenco flavour. It is a composition adapted by Tortosa that undoubtedly proves to be a highly attractive and innovative Tortosian music production.
