He studied music at the Municipal Music School, where he qualified as a cellist. Later on he furthered his studies in Barcelona (at the Barcelona Music School, the Liceu Music School, the Virtèlla School, The Ireneu Segarra-method Music-Teaching School and the Autonomous University of Barcelona).
As a performer, he has been a member of various instrumental ensembles (Ministrills del Raval, Psàlite) and has worked (and still does) with the well-known Catalan singers Maria del Mar Bonet, Lídia Pujol and Raimon, among many others.
He has always had close links with the world of education, giving classes in Musical Language in primary and secondary education and at university level (the University of Girona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona ' Education Sciences, Post-Graduate Dance courses and Post-Graduate courses for specialist music teachers ' and currently for the Dance Diploma at the Education-Sciences Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona); and he has also taught in the Traditional and Folk Music and Dance Courses of the Centre for the Promotion of Folk and Traditional Music, a body established by the Department of Culture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.
Recordings in which he took part, whether as author, composer, arranger, performer or conductor, include: Galp danses i Jocs dansats (Sac de Danses); Canta-me'n una, cante-m'en dues' (Miqui Jiménez); Danses Pallareses, Dansàneu, Cançons i balls de muntanyes (Department Culture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia); Tríade, Mascaró de Proa (Esbart, Sant Cugat); El comte Arnau (Town Council of Sant Joan de les Abadesses); Psàlite (traditional Catalan singing) and Danses del Lluçanès (an initiative by Solo, Música i Tradició al Lluçanès).
