Beginning and Intermediate Orchestra
A flexible collection of pieces for intermediate level orchestras which are intended to be performed by groups ranging from a small ensemble to a full-sized orchestra. These pieces can be performed by piano and one instrument all the way up to a full-sized orchestra. In some cases there are parts of greater difficulty for students of a higher level. \n Following the practice of the previous 'Let's Begin Orchestra' series, the director has a certain leeway in determining the precise nature of the orchestration. Factors such as the piece itself, the available players and their different levels are the determining elements in giving the piece it's final form. The arrangements allow for great flexibility. \n \n \n Minimun ensemble:\n 2 Flutes / 1 Oboe (Clarinet) / 2 Clarinets / 1 Bassoon (Bass Clarinet or Tenor Saxophone) / 2 Horns (2 alt saxophones) / Timpani / Piano / Violin I / Violin II / Viola (violin III) / Cello / Contrabass.\n Extended ensemble:\n Piccolo / 2nd Oboe / English Horn / Bass Clarinet / 2nd Bassoon / Alt Saxophone / Tenor Saxophone / 3rd and 4rth Horn / 1st, 2nd and 3rd Trumpet / 1st, 2nd and 3rd Trombone / Tuba / Percussion.
